Birmingham Bank requires a Management Accountant to support the CFO in preparing management accounts during a transformation period.

Reporting to the CFO, the Management Accountant will produce and analyse financial reports, maintain financial systems and accounting records and, ensure accuracy and financial compliance.

You will be a qualified Accountant with significant post-qualification experience gained in the banking industry.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:

• Prepare financial statements, including consolidated internal and external reports;
• Accounting process owner for revenue and expense recognition;
• Maintain HMRC payroll and VAT compliance;
• Support the CFO in developing and implementing policies and procedures;
• Financial budget, forecast and strategy development, management and maintenance;
• Liaising with external parties for year-end accounts preparation;
• Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed;
• Preparing analysis of financial and operating metrics;
• Interest accruals verification; and
• ALCO reporting, especially interest rate risk, liquidity and funding model

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Finance related qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent);
• Significant post-qualified experience;
• Previous experience in Banking;
• Intermediate to advanced level of Excel;
• Experience of process improvements; and
• Experience implementing a financial reporting system.
