We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on their credit risk analysis processes and contribute to the growth and success of the Bank. .
Responsibilities
- Provide specific quantitative and risk expertise including the provision of models and stress testing;
- Analyse data sets to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks, and provide insights to inform credit risk decision-making.
- Drive the implementation of automation technology to streamline credit risk processes and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and implement credit decision models and scorecards to automate credit risk assessments and improve credit decision-making.
- Perform expected loss calculations to estimate credit risk exposure.
- Conduct stress testing scenarios to assess the resilience of the credit portfolio.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with credit risk regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor in-life performance of loans and exposures to identify increased credit risk and recommend mitigating actions
- Maintain relationship with Credit Reference Agencies, ensuring the Bank is optimising the use of available products.
- Liaising with third party data/service providers to enhance the application process flow
- Working closely with the First Line to ensure processes and procedures are optimised to deliver minimum bad debt levels
- Maintain the relationship with the Bank’s valuation & conveyancing partners
- Oversight of the Bank’s Servicing & Collections activities
Experience
- Previous experience working in a credit analyst role in the banking sector is essential;
- Experience of assessing secured and unsecured commercial lending applications, including analysis of financial statements;
- Significant experience of using current commercial IT lending platforms;
- Experience of reviewing applications from brokers would be beneficial; and,
- Understanding of at least one of the following areas:
Credit Risk, Internal Ratings Based Models, Quantitative Risk Modelling and Stress Testing
Qualifications & Personal Characteristics
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields
- Two to five years of strong quantitative experience
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and general computer use
- Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
- Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios and concepts.
