Role

The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for regular business monitoring, annual risk assessments, and participation in annual planning processes. This role has accountability for leading end-to-end audit processes, including planning,execution, follow-up, and reporting. The role holder will report directly to the Head of Internal Audit.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the roleholder is responsible for:

a) Delivering end-to-end audit activities including reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and to audit committee and board level.

b) Supporting the development and delivery of the annual internal audit plan.

c) Managing the wider audit universe and developing effective working relationships with external auditors, the compliance team within the bank and our co-source partners

Key tasks

  • Independently conducting audits, including planning, execution and reporting.
  • Delivering high-quality reports
  • Building the capability and capacity of the IA function to achieve the standards set in the Internal Auditor Financial Services Code of Practice
  • Ability to evidence adherence to the Core Principles of Internal Auditing
  • Building our capability and use of data analytics to support effective data-based decision making

Experience

  • The successful candidate will have at least 4+ years of Internal Audit experience (preferably experience as an Internal Audit Manager or equivalent level).
  • You must also have financial services experience (preferably within banking).

Qualifications & Personal Characteristics

  • Ideally educated to degree level, although suitably experienced candidates will be considered.
  • We would expect that this role would be suited to either a Chartered Internal Auditor, a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA etc.) or a banker with chartered banker or similar level qualification.
